One Queen Street East has taken its rightful place as a world-class Smart Building in downtown Toronto. Cushman & Wakefield Property Management engaged RYCOM, as their Master Integration Team in 2016 to orchestrate the holistic planning and execution of the multi-phased Smart Strategy for this landmark complex. Together, RYCOM and One Queen created a secure, modular and open Smart Building platform that serves as the foundation for achieving the present goals of reducing costs and increasing efficiencies. This also supports the long-term goal for the Smart strategy to positively impact NOI and asset value. Efforts to date have delivered results including: the one-time capital savings of $348K from deploying a property owned BBN; a 113% increase in telecom revenue (now $34K/year); $27K of identified savings to improve BAS operations and reduce energy consumption (based on one floor and plant equipment); and projected energy savings of $70K/year (contingent on DDC conversion).
