Doing What’s Right
RYCOM is a company built on ideals and a strong belief in our responsibility to support each other and the communities we serve.
Our people bring these ideals to life through a commitment to community engagement based on helping those in need. We aspire to be the shoulder to lean on as individuals and as a company.
Be Good to Each Other
Since our inception 20 years ago, RYCOM has always believed the greatest measure of success is in our efforts to help those in need. Whether lending a thoughtful ear to a friend, giving a co-worker a helping hand, or supporting the many worthy causes in our communities, our people are among the first to step up. So we are proud to introduce our Lean on Me program to help amplify our efforts and add a voice to our collective vision today and as our efforts continue to grow into the future. From small but meaningful gestures to larger fundraising events, we give our time, effort and funds to a variety of not-for-profit organizations.
Community Initiatives
RYCOM is proud to support the following not-for-profit organizations that are making positive change in the communities where we live and operate:
People across Canada wear plaid in June of each year to help promote early detection of prostate cancer. RYCOM is proud to be a founding participant and to have our workplace, families and colleagues involved in this annual campaign that’s helping create a better future for men and their families.
For 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been making a positive difference in the lives of our nation's youth by developing and implementing mentoring programs. Its mentors serve as role models, providing life-changing relationships built on friendship, trust and empowerment to over 40,000 children. RYCOM is a proud, ongoing supporter of this great organization and its outstanding mentorship program.
This exciting initiative sees participants climbing 5,000 feet of the tallest towers in Canada's largest cities to help lead the way to a better tomorrow for Canadians affected by prostate cancer. RYCOM supports many of our clients who participate in this event – some of whom even own and operate the participating buildings!
Spinning for Autism is a one-day, seven-hour event in which participants are encouraged to spin alongside a number of spinning instructors for as long as they can keep up, to help raise awareness for Children with Autism. This much anticipated event is run entirely by volunteers and members of the community, who have helped raise over $200,000!
The Rogers Conn Smythe Sports Celebrities Dinner & Auction is Canada’s most successful and prestigious sports dinner. Founded in 1951 by a group of sportscasters and sportswriters to kick off Easter Seals’ annual fundraising campaign, the star-studded occasion has seen some of the world’s greatest athletes grace its stage and continues to draw the biggest names in sports. RYCOM is a proud supporter of this important annual event.
RYCOM’s marquee event for five years, our Chips for Charity fundraiser has raised over $100,000 in support of Prostate Cancer and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to promote awareness and early detection. An annual day of fundraising features a BBQ lunch, nine holes of golf and a Texas Hold’em poker tournament.
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is Canada's most research-intensive children’s hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country. Every year, more than 100,000 children come to SickKids for life-saving care and the number continues to grow. RYCOM is a proud long-standing supporter of SickKids Foundation and is dedicated to investing in groundbreaking research, education, and patient care. Together, we are building strong communities and healthy families.
Donating to Work Against Violence Everyday, Louise Russo W.A.V.E. is centred on principles of Respect, Responsibility and Role of Leadership. Its goal is to inspire young people and members of the community to take action, make positive choices and initiate projects that make their schools and community safe places to live, learn and play. RYCOM is proud to support W.A.V.E to help reduce and eliminate violence.
The mission of CHU Sainte-Justine is “to improve health on the whole, which constitutes a complete state of physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being of children, teenagers and mothers of Quebec in affiliation with its health care, university and research partners.” A few of RYCOM’s friends and family have received excellent care and support provided by Sainte-Justine. We are honoured to have Sainte-Justine Lean on Us for a change.
